2010 February Meeting ~ Meet Bluette

Evelyn regaled us with the history of the Bleuette doll that started in 1905 in France and ended in 1960. For a subscription to “La Semaine de Suzette,” a popular magazine for French girls, girls received a little bisque headed doll. Each month there were patterns to make clothes for her. We heard about the many changes over the years along with pictures that represented their faces. Evelyn had some of the original magazines and her lovely collection in wonderful handmade clothes.
