You’re Invited…

…to attend a meeting of the Yankee Doodle Dollers doll club. Come share your love of dolls with other adults and learn about the fun things we do throughout the year.

Meetings

For the 2010-2011 year, we will be meeting on the second Tuesday of each month from September to June. We meet more informally over the summer months. We also have an informal “Needle Play” meeting just about every month at a member’s home where we chat, eat and work on personal projects.

1 History of Black Dolls Guest speaker involved with the Black Doll
Museum being planned for Massachusetts
2 UFDC Region 15 Director Visit Insights into UFDC plus Director usually
presents a program on a doll they enjoy!
3 Getting to Know Some Doll Artists Up to five club members would share their
love for a particular doll artist. Rather than
devote a night to one of them, we would
look at several and get a small taste of
their talents. Suggested artists were Tasha
Tudor, Sasha Morgenthal (?), Martha
Armstrong-Hand, Wendy Lawton
4 Using Mohair for Wigs, etc.
5 A Birthday Party for Jane A hands-on activity meeting in which
different accessories would be made that
could be used for a doll. Suggested ideas
werefoods, party hats, etc…
6 Alice in Wonderland Revisited Used as a theme during paper doll month,
Alice got lost in the excitement. This could
be an opportunity to look at the history of
Alice in the world of dolls.
